WHO ARE WE

We are Élian, Louis and our daughter Bianca, and we are delighted to welcome you to the Quinta do Chafariz. Passionate about the landscapes and cultural heritage of central Portugal, we have made hospitality our way of life. Welcoming, sharing, advising and creating meaningful connections — every stay is, for us, a precious encounter.

Our Quinta has been carefully renovated, preserving its original character while embracing modern comfort. It combines historic charm with contemporary amenities, without ever compromising its authenticity. As a family, we personally ensure that your stay is warm, peaceful and truly memorable.

Located in Algaça, just 5 minutes from Vila Nova de Poiares and 20 minutes from Coimbra — the UNESCO World Heritage-listed university city — the Quinta enjoys an ideal location: 1 hour 15 minutes from Porto and 2 hours from Lisbon. It is the perfect starting point to discover the true, unspoiled and deeply authentic Portugal.

Our commitment is both human and responsible. We follow environmentally conscious practices — waste sorting, a saltwater pool, and green spaces free from pesticides — and we embrace hospitality founded on equity, diversity and inclusion: here, everyone is welcomed with the same care and kindness.

From the Quinta, countless experiences await: the schist villages of the Serra da Lousã, crystal-clear river beaches, scenic hikes, kayaking on the rivers, the historic heritage of Coimbra and the soulful melodies of Fado. Local markets, traditional craftsmanship, medieval castles, monasteries and vibrant village festivals tell the living story of this remarkable region.

Between verdant valleys and cultural heritage, between tradition and the gentle Portuguese way of life, Quinta do Chafariz is far more than a place to stay: it is an invitation to slow down, to explore and to truly feel.

We look forward to sharing this special place with you — and to turning your stay into a lasting memory.
